The Politics of Gun Control

Tis the season to be political. A fresh election is upon us, and there are important issues at stake. I take a shot (hah) at one of the more controversial ones.

The New Economy

This started out as a rant that ran rather long, and got rather thoughtful and unrant like. Read my pontificating about the 'new economy'. This was written in late June of 2000, so some of it may seem a bit dated now, but the basic premises, I think, hold up.

Armed and Dangerous

This essay was originally written as a bit for Newsweek, but when I was done I realized that I was at about twice the word count they like, and given Newsweek's politics the chance of them publishing it were so slim as to make the effort of trimming not worth it. So I have put it up here for the edification of the masses. For those of you outside the US, okay, my gun doesn't protect you, but I hope this piece has given you a bit of insight into the mind of the American gun owner that you would not get through the news media. Thanks for taking the time to read it.

Citizens of the Republic

Citizens is another one that ran long. It's a first draft and I'll be tinkering with it; I may, time permitting, break it into two pieces and try to sell it as two essays. We'll see.

Well, that was about enough of that, huh?
